How to Trim a Video and Export it as a GIF or WebP
Load your video — drag and drop a video file onto the page, or click the file area to select one. The video loads entirely in your browser — MP4, WebM, MOV, and most other browser-playable formats are supported. Nothing is uploaded.
Set the trim range — drag the blue start handle and the purple end handle on the timeline strip to define the exact clip you want to keep. The video preview loops within your selection so you can review it before exporting.
Choose a format and process — select GIF, WebP, or MP4 from the format picker. Adjust optional settings such as FPS and maximum width for GIF/WebP output, then click Process. The clip is encoded in your browser using FFmpeg compiled to WebAssembly.
Download your file — click the Download button to save the output directly to your device.
All video processing happens entirely in your browser — your video file never leaves your device. GIF output uses a two-pass palette encoding for the best quality at the smallest file size. MP4 uses stream-copy (no re-encode) for instant output with no quality loss.
Which format should I choose?
GIF — widest compatibility; works everywhere including older email clients and messaging apps.
WebP — smaller file size than GIF with better color depth; supported in all modern browsers and most apps.
MP4 — highest quality; ideal when the destination supports video playback. Uses stream-copy so there is no quality loss and the export is near-instant.
